Tanya Flanagan, Director of Communications

Tanya Flanagan is currently director of communications for the Quality
Healthcare Network and the Safer Healthcare Now! campaign in Ontario. Flanagan
specializes in health communications. She studied English literature at the University of
Guelph and has a master's in sociology and anthropology from the same university. She
also has a postgraduate degree in journalism from Ryerson University. Flanagan has
worked as a director of communications and media relations for a provincial health
network, national and community news reporter, administrator of a provincial evidence-
based clinical practice program, senior health planner and university researcher. Her
writing has appeared in a variety of publications including the National Post, Toronto
Community News, Gleaner News and numerous health journals some of which include
the Medical Journal of Australia, International Medical Journal, Canadian Journal of
CME and the Ontario Medical Review (OMR).
