rL Solutions together with the Quality Healthcare Network (QHN) is pleased to announce the annual rL Solutions CHEQA Award. This award is presented to a Canadian healthcare organization that has demonstrated excellence in the areas of patient safety and overall quality of care.

The rL Solutions Canadian Healthcare Excellence in Quality Award (CHEQA) is based on the belief that by providing inspiration and working together, we all can make a positive impact in Canadian Health Care. This award is based on three objectives:

To inspire positive change – Help in motivating organizations to share and develop innovative ways to raise the quality of care and the patient experience in our communities.

To recognize excellence – Reward organizations that show dedication to the improvement of methods that lead to better outcomes.

To promote best practices - Build awareness of effective real-world efforts that improve outcomes in patient safety and service excellence.

The Award

This annual award is valued at $15,000. Applicants submit a project or initiative that shows key attributes of sustainable performance improvement.

2006 rL Solutions CHEQA Award Winner

QHN is pleased to announce the winner of the 2006 rL Solutions CHEQA award as voted upon by QHN Members.

This year's winner is Hamilton Health Sciences Centre and their project entitled "Improving Patient Safety, Clinical Outcomes and Clinical Resource Utilization through the Clinically Appropriate Use of Antibiotics in the ICU at Hamilton Health Sciences ."

QHN would like to congratulate Hamilton Health Sciences Centre for the great work in this project. It is the second year in a row that a QHN member has won the award.
